Why is it I am not allowed to buy clones. In the US, our states have different laws. In the state of Maine in the US where I live it is legal to grow and purchase marijuana for medicinal use, which I have been granted due to the severity of my disability. We Yanks like clones to you know. I know for me I would much rather grow from clones than seeds. Any word and or input would be greatly appreciated

Clones are easy to generate - it is the genetics that you need to get.
But your question is why is it illegal. There is a long history why a plant whose use was everyday for everything from diapers to drapes was made illegal. The short end is a Dupont patent transferred from Germany prior to the war for nylon and synthetics. Hemp was then the enemy of the powers. It was easy for Dupont to enlist his banker friend Morgan, who happened to be the Secretary of Treasury too, to work and make hemp illegal. Morgan, whose banks funded the famous newspapers of William Randolph Hurst, enlisted Hurst's help to twist the minds of Americans. Hurst needed the funding of Morgan and the chemicals of Dupont so they made great buddies.
Hurst was ready having lost a huge investment in Mexican forest due to La Cucaracha, that marijuana-smoking fiend who led the Mexican revolution. Hurst insisted all marijuana be illegal, not just hemp. They could not make a law against a thing at those times so they circumvented the legal system to make it a tax under, ta taaa, none other than Morgan and his hat under the guise of Secretary of Treasury. To make sure hemp would never grow as an industrial plant again Morgan installed his son-in-law as the head of the new BNDD, which became the DEA.
There is much more on both ends, like the reason we have drug laws at all is because of the Spanish American war and our first colonies. You do know we have colonies? We are Empirical Colonialists in America.
Funny enough, or sad but true, the government looks at cloning as a class A felon because they see only the fact that you will make a lot of smoke and no one gets money but you.
